Weekend Intensive FAQs

The Next Restoring the Soul Weekend will be held September 29-October 2, 2022 in Colorado Springs

Each man will be invited through our check-in process one by one in the order they arrive; men who are waiting remain outside. This step is the beginning of your weekend experience and we ask each man enter with silence and respect for the other participants. Remember, Colorado weather is unpredictable, it could be cold, rainy, or snowing—plan to dress accordingly.

Because this step is critical to setting a tone for the weekend, we ask each man to arrive at the event as close to 3:00 PM MST as possible.

Yes, the entire weekend is structured for maximum impact and transformation. This includes set times for reflection and breaks between sessions. There are trails and open space around the Hideaway for walks in silence and solitude.

Please provide family or friends with the contact information for the Restoring the Soul Weekend Intensive staff which you received in your welcome emails. Intensive staff will be able to receive urgent calls throughout the weekend.

If an emergency should arise, our staff will work with the affected participant to ensure they are able to respond accordingly. Note, the Hideaway does not monitor their phone beyond voicemail during the weekend. An emergency phone number and contact information will be sent by email before the event.

Each weekend has a fully dedicated prayer team. They pray for each participant, each group, staff, and their families. In addition, personal requests are welcome at any time. Paper is always available to submit a prayer need. Each is held in strict confidence and will not shared with anyone outside of the staff.

After registering for the Weekend Intensive, you will receive a series of emails with links and instructions to complete four steps necessary to make your experience truly transformative.

  1. You will need to complete a personal history inventory for your group leaders.
  2. Send two photos, one of you as a young boy and a current photo. You will be sent a link to upload digital copies of each to our staff.
  3. You will need to complete and digitally sign an informed consent agreement with Restoring the Soul.
  4. You will need to complete and digitally sign a COVID agreement. We continually monitor local and national requirements to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all participants and staff.

All digital forms are covered by HIPAA and remain private on our secure servers.

The weekend intensive combines large and small group experience, interactive teaching, personal reflection, and experiential learning. Because the weekend is emotionally, relationally, and spiritually intense, the total number of participants is limited to 30.

The Restoring the Soul Weekend Intensive is a one-of-a-kind three-day experience for men struggling with lust and compulsive sexual behaviors such as pornography, serial affairs, strip clubs, or other forms of habitual sexual behavior. The weekend takes men to the root of the problem and launches them toward lasting freedom–a greater capacity for intimacy with God and others.

Michael John Cusick and a team of Licensed Professional and Trained Counselors will lead each session. A Licensed Professional or Trained Counselor will lead each soul group. Additional staff includes previous Weekend Intensive participants, pastors, business leaders, and experienced coaches.

The weekend features a ninety-day aftercare journey–built-in at no additional cost. This 90 day follow up reinforces the breakthroughs you experience on the weekend as you stay connected with men from your soul group and other participants from your weekend.

Our staff will send a packing list by email before the event starts. The Hideaway provides towels, linens and all meals and snacks during the event. Water and coffee are available at all times throughout your stay.
