RTS Weekend Staff Confidentiality Agreement

In light of these standards which apply to licensed and clinical staff, all non-clinical staff including administrative, support, and technical staff as well as anyone serving Restoring the Soul in any capacity, volunteer, contract employee, vendor, etc. (hereto referred to as “staff”) must abide by the following standards:

1. Under no circumstances should staff access or examine client paperwork or other counseling records without explicit program related purpose including (a) pre-intensive registration (b) on-site registration and information (c) assessment of client’s self-reported information for any purpose other than client care and assisting a Restoring the Soul, Inc. therapist. Any questions related to accessing client paperwork should be addressed to Michael John Cusick, MA, LPC, Clinical Director of Restoring the Soul, Inc. or Julianne Cusick, MA, MFTC, Operations Director of Restoring the Soul, Inc.
2. It is understood that all personal client content including but not limited to client’s e-mail and/or personal history/intake documents submitted to RTS is intended only for the counselor/clinicians and where appropriate support staff. The one exception is when non-clinical staff receive e-mail inquiries or other general correspondence through the RTS website or email.

   Any request whether by phone, e-mail, fax, or other written requests, or texts from non-participants (including family members) inquiring about a potential or existing client and their participation in any of our programs (Men’s Weekend Intensive, Soul Care Intensive, etc) at RTS may not be acknowledged without the expressed written consent of the client. As such when requests are received about client participation (including family members not in attendance) staff should (A) state that “our policy is that we are unable to comment about any client’s participation in our program.” (B) Immediately notify Michael Cusick, MA, LPC, Clinical Director of Restoring the Soul, Inc. and Julianne Cusick, MA, MFTC, Operations Director of Restoring the Soul, Inc.

3. Due to the sensitive nature of our work and the high profile or highly public role of certain clients, staff may not disclose the names or descriptions of clients and/or intensive participants to friends, family members, or any person outside of Restoring the Soul, Inc. Doing so is a breach of privacy, whether it is before, during, or after counseling, a weekend program, Clinical Soul Care Intensive or other program.
4. In the case of high profile clients, staff are explicitly prohibited from discussing with such clients anything related to their public position, organization, ministry, social media platform, books and media, etc.

   For example, when High Profile Pastor/Author/Athlete/Musician/Celebrity/Leader inquires or contacts Restoring the Soul, it would be inappropriate and dishonoring (concerning their need to “be a regular person”) to write or comment, “I’m a big fan of your books” or “Your ministry has deeply impacted me,” or “Can I have your autograph?”

   In such cases intensive clients need to understand that Restoring the Soul Clinical Soul Care Intensives, Men’s Intensive Weekend, Woman’s Weekend, and any other RTS programs exist to serve them, the client, and not the other way around.

5. In public or open areas of our event venue, including RTS kitchen and offices, staff should take special caution when discussing program related issues or content about a specific person. This includes conversation in the hallways, elevator, dining areas, lobby, or anywhere that clients or participants might overhear confidential information.

By signing below, you agree to abide by the aforementioned guidelines and you further confirm that you will not remove or take any documents or proprietary data or materials of any kind, electronic or otherwise from RTS.
